Ruby
Founder, Artist & Lead Facilitator
Meet Ruby! The creative force behind Studio Ruby Chew, Ruby is a passionate artist and educator dedicated to making art accessible, exciting, and inspiring for young creatives! With years of experience in drawing, painting, exhibiting and running workshops, she brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to every session.
Background: A practicing artist and experienced educator, Ruby has exhibited her work across Australia and taught hundreds of students through engaging and dynamic workshops.
What she brings: Ruby’s classes are all about experimentation, self-expression, and learning through making. Whether guiding students through a painting project or sparking imaginative ideas, she creates a space where creativity thrives.
Fun fact: Ruby is also a DJ, a lover of all things bold and colourful, and loves playing video games.

Eden
Facilitator & Assistant
Meet Eden! A passionate teacher and artist assistant, Eden brings energy, expertise, and enthusiasm to every class. With a love for visual arts and education, she thrives on helping young artists build confidence and explore their creativity.Background: Completing a Master of Secondary Teaching, with an undergraduate degree in Contemporary Arts and English. She has worked across SA as a preservice teacher and assistant, supporting students in their creative learning.
What she brings: Eden isn’t afraid to get her hands messy - whether guiding kids through painting techniques or encouraging bold ideas! She blends practical art skills with strong teaching experience, creating a space where students feel inspired to take creative risks!
Fun fact: A dedicated footy player, Eden brings the same teamwork and energy to the classroom as she does to the field!

Poppy
Assistant & Emerging Artist
Meet Poppy! A talented young artist with a natural ability to connect with kids, Poppy brings fresh creativity and a strong artistic eye to the studio. Recently graduating Year 12 with top results in Visual Art and Design, she plans to study at art school next year.
Background: Having worked in an art and craft supply store for many years, Poppy knows her materials inside out and loves helping students experiment with new techniques! A gifted illustrator, she inspires kids to develop their drawing and design skills.
What she brings: Friendly, patient and full of enthusiasm, Poppy creates a fun and encouraging space where students feel comfortable to express themselves. Always proactive, she’s quick to pick up on students' needs and keep things running smoothly.
Fun fact: Poppy loves Harry Potter, anime, Dungeons & Dragons and other table-top role play games.

Dave
Assistant & Studio Support
Meet Dave! As a longtime artist assistant and behind-the-scenes powerhouse, Dave has been part of Studio Ruby Chew from the start. He helps keep workshops running smoothly while making sure everything is organised, prepped and ready for creativity to flow!
Background: A dedicated assistant with years of hands-on experience, Dave helps with everything from preparing materials to guiding young artists. His love for working with kids started when his niece and nephew were born, and he’s been a natural at creating a fun and supportive space ever since!
What he brings: Reliable and resourceful, Dave is always one step ahead, whether organising supplies, offering encouragement or keeping things running smoothly. He’s also Ruby’s husband and biggest supporter!
Fun fact: Dave is a Liverpool FC superfan, live music enthusiast and is nicknamed ‘Mr. Fix-it’, as he can fix just about anything - from tech troubles to wobbly tables!
All our staff have been personally trained by Ruby, and bring their own creativity, experience and passion for working with children to the table! Each team member is handpicked for their ability to inspire, support, and engage young artists, creating a fun, welcoming, and enriching environment.
They all hold valid Working With Children Checks and are not just talented artists and educators, but trusted, caring, and energetic mentors who make the studio a vibrant and safe space for every child to explore their creativity!
